There is a common scenario with building a new habit. We start motivated with strong intention to do it.
We do it for a few days, maybe even a few weeks. Then we have a 'bad day' and our motivation drops. If we think about e.g. doing a workout for 30 minutes, reading 25 pages or even meditating for 15 minutes - we skip a day. And then we give up.
Minimum amount to complete
That is why we encourage users to create habits that are, most of all, easy to do. For numerical habits, we allow setting the minimum amount to complete the habit.
Let's say that we want to work out for 10 minutes every day. We can set the minimum time to 1 minute. In hab.it, meditating for 1 minute or for 15 minutes, will get you 1 XP anyway. On one hand, it may seem unfair. On the other hand, it is a way to save us from the bad days and continue building our new routine.
We don't want to punish you for having a bad day. We want to reward you for showing up. Scientifically, even this one minute is enough to continue building your new routine.
In many cases, after one minute of workout, you will continue cause the most difficult part was to start. Do not aim for perfection. Aim for consistency.
